MODULE 1: Strengths-Based Goal Writing (45 minutes)

The medical model teaches us to write deficits-driven goals that wreak havoc on the mental health of Autistic students. But there’s a better way!

In this module, you’ll learn a framework that will allow you to confidently write goals that area aligned with your deepest values and your desire for your clients’ authentic well-being.

MODULE 2: Case Study 1 (30 minutes)

Clinical practice is complex and can be messy, but the goals we write matter. To help you apply the strengths-based goal writing framework to your actual work, Rachel Dorsey will walk you through a true-to-life case study, teaching you her clinical reasoning step-by-step in a way you can easily apply to your own clients. 

MODULE 3: Case Study 2 (45 minutes)

We want you to leave this training brimming with confidence and enthusiasm to put your new skills into practice. In this module, you’ll work through a case study together with the other live participants so that you can have the skills to apply the framework to your own work with ease.

This course is developed for occupational therapists and speech language pathologists who write goals for their Autistic clients. It is also appropriate for teachers and other professionals. This is not a course designed for parents.
 
This course is targeted at the intermediate level.

This course is appropriate for professionals working with kids from early intervention through adolescence.

This course is taught via live lecture and a participatory process of goal writing using several case studies. 

This course is available for .2 ASHA CEUs and .2 AOTA CEUs. It is not approved by any physical therapy associations, but check your state board to see if it meets the requirements.

Yes. We plan to offer a recorded replay of this live training at a later date. If you enroll in the live training and miss it, we will give you the option of watching the replay. However if you know you cannot attend live, we advise you to wait to register until the replay is available and registered for CEUs. 

You must join the training within 5 minutes of the start time and stay until the end. After completing an attestation that you attended live and completing the quiz in the course in Thinkific with a satisfactory score (75% or greater), you will receive your certificate by email. 

No refunds will be issued after you have registered. However you do have the option of transferring your registration to another learner. If the live course is canceled by the instructor, you will be given the option of a full refund or access to a recorded version of the course. If you miss the live training, you will be enrolled in the recorded replay when it is available.
